Developing the Activist platform will be an ambitious endeavor, which we expect will take three to four years to develop the full functionality of the platform. Our team has set strategic product development deadlines that sync up with the political calendar over the next several years. Our goal is to iteratively launch the platform’s features in phases and secure several rounds of private and venture capital investments to fund the continued development and growth of the platform. Below is a high-level summary of our growth strategy and product development roadmap.
Phase I: Minimum Viable Product & Proof of Concept
Investment: Pre-Seed Investment
Targeted Launch: March 2026
Activist Technologies secured a pre-seed investment to cover the preliminary stages of the company’s development, including building our brand, creating the legal framework for the company, writing our business plan and developing our minimum viable product. Our goal is to launch our minimum viable product by December 2025.
The primary goals of this first iteration of the platform will be to provide a proof of concept and to acquire users ahead of the 2026 Midterm Election cycle. The first iteration of the platform will include the following basic features:
General user profiles and account features
Voting features
Advocacy features
Research features
Basic user recommendations
This version of the platform will provide users with valuable voting and advocacy tools that allow them to save their information and preferences to a user profile. It will also include off-platform resource links such as candidate and organization websites and social media handles. This phase of development will rely largely on contracted development and strategic partnerships with other companies and organizations in the political technology market.
Our aim for Phase I is to show that there is demand for a direct-to-consumer political technology platform, which will in turn help attract additional seed financing to continue developing the platform and growing the company.
Phase II: Platform Expansion & Go-To-Market
Investment: Seed Investment
Targeted Launch: March 2027
During the 2026 Midterm Election cycle, Activist will be looking to secure a round of seed investment from an angel investor or a venture capital fund. This investment will be used to increase user acquisition throughout the election cycle as well as to support and expand the functionality of the platform. Below are the new features we intend to roll out iteratively throughout the course of the Midterm Election cycle and leading up to the 2028 Presidential Election cycle:
Algorithm-based user recommendations
Multimedia posting features
Social media (like/share/comment/report) features
Organization user profiles and features
Fundraising features
Organizing features
News features
Careers features
This growth phase will be characterized by growing the Activist team with an expanded executive leadership team and in-house developers. Our team will develop the majority of the platform’s features during this phase while setting the stage for the introduction of several revenue models to generate large, independent revenue streams in the next phase. We will continue to prioritize long-term, strategic partnerships within the space during this phase to ensure that our continued growth is not overly disruptive to the established players in the political technology market.
Our aim for this phase is to go-to-market with the expanded core functionality of the platform and to use the Midterm Election cycle as a catalyst for user growth. This phase will lay the foundation for the 2028 Presidential Election cycle and will be used to attract a Series A investment to further scale our company.
Phase III: Revenue Generation & Growth
Investment: Series A
Targeted Launch: March 2028
Ahead of the 2028 Presidential Election cycle, Activist will be seeking a Series A investment from a venture capital fund. This investment will be used to grow the platform with expanded functionality and to execute marketing campaigns for increased user acquisition. This growth phase will include launching our first revenue generating features leading into what will be the largest Presidential Election of all time. Below is a summary of the features we intend to launch in this development phase:
Advanced feature enhancements
Organization subscriptions
Professional user subscriptions
Native political advertising
Financial service fees
This growth phase will be characterized by the continued expansion of our team and by implementing several revenue generating features. We expect to drastically increase our staff with a focus on platform development, marketing, fact-checking and platform moderation. During this phase, we will also deploy a “freemium” model that allows individual and organizational users to unlock advanced paid features with user subscriptions. Additionally, we will launch native advertising capabilities exclusively for political ads. We will also vertically integrate our financial transaction tech stack and incorporate industry standard financial service fees for all donations and payments that occur through the platform. We expect these features will drive a huge increase in our company’s revenue as we see increased platform usage during the 2028 Presidential Election cycle.
Our aim for this phase is to complete development on our vision for the full platform. Deploying these features will generate significant revenue that we believe will make us profitable in 2028. Achieving profitability will empower us to pay dividends to shareholders, reinvest in the company and attract additional investment for continued growth.
Phase IV: Increased Profitability, International Expansion & IPO
Investment: Series B & Series C
Targeted Launch: TBD (Est. 2030 – 2032)
Following the 2028 Presidential Election, we expect to be poised for significant continued growth. The company will ideally already be profitable with a clear business model and established revenue streams. At this point we expect to focus on international expansion, likely on country-by-country basis, focusing on high-income countries with stable democracies and similar market structures (e.g. Canada, United Kingdom and Australia).
To do this, we will likely seek a Series B investment that will fund the development of country-specific platform features and focus on growth in both the U.S. and new international markets. Additionally, this investment will be used to continue vertically integrating revenue-generating platform features to increase profitability.
Finally, if needed, we anticipate that we may seek a Series C investment to prepare the company for an initial public offering (IPO). This round of investment would be focused on improving platform functionality and scalability, increased international growth into secondary target markets, possible acquisitions and generally preparing to go public.
Like all plans, nothing is guaranteed, but we’re incredibly excited by the opportunity and we look forward to what the future holds for Activist. We hope this plan will come to fruition and that Activist will serve as a model for other mission-driven startups to secure venture capital funding to grow their impact and make the world a better place.
